About Me:
To start with, I am a fine art artist by vocation, not a career. Art, in general, was one of my childhood hobbies.
Initially, I was planning to pursue a career as an Aeronautical engineer. But, life events had other ideas, and I ended up in Barcelona, Spain, where I studied medicine. Afterward, I spent almost 40 years of my life as a Pediatrician.
Since now, I’m a happily retired Pediatrician; I decided to rekindle my Art and Painting hobby.
I am self-educated in Art. I didn’t attend any Art courses or classes, but when I lived in Barcelona, a city immersed in Art, and the home of Gaudi’s architectural legacy. I was inspired and became a regular visitor to Miro, Tapies, Picasso, and Dali’s museums.
I can’t claim any influence in this field. I never set out to prove myself to the world of Fine Arts and Paintings. It was something that I felt the need to practice as a repose of the soul and relaxation of the mind. For me, painting is an internal call and not an act of publicity.
My Style:
To describe my style, I would say that I am an abstract Painter. I reach this affirmation after recalling the history of my hobby. I always express my feelings on painting material guided only by what is cooking in my mind.
I am not a Custom Art painter; my Artwork is almost always a product of an interaction between my internal inquietude, the brush, pallet, and the canvas. It’s hard for me to copy directly from a picture, scene, or landscape. I have to capture what my eyes see and put it the way I feel or interpret abstractly.
It may sound unusual, but for me, the Painter does not have to explain or justify his/her Artwork, especially in the abstract style. The viewer has to be allowed to form their understanding of the Artwork. They may capture the same message the Painter projects or discover and see something else develop with their own thinking or interpretation.
My motto:
I enjoy painting and that’s what I’m looking for.
